Tiong Bahru and Ikea
Was at Tiong Bahru with ahhui. And he said there was a shop which sells good coffee. And it does look like the traditional coffeeshop!
The coffee itself was not too bad. But the winner was the steamed bread with kaya and butter. The bread is soft and it goes perfectly with the kaya and the butter. In fact I wanted to go back for more.. but it was closed.
And I spotted this!
Volkswagen Beetle!
Ahhui and I had the charsiew bao, yam ball and siew mai. All 3 were pretty damm good. And since we were at Tiong Bahru, we decided to have ghee kuey.
It's just steamed flour and some chye poh. And this is good. But eating it is a huge chore as they only gave us 2 puny little sticks to eat with it. Think of it as chopsticks, but small and incredibly difficult to use. The chili was.. overpowering.
Ching Thng! This baby was excellent. They have stuff like green beans and water chestnut so it's a (good) breakaway from the usual chng tng, but it does not have any red dates. Pity.
Ikea was next as Lian Hui wanted to get something from there, and I haven't been there for ages.
And..
I sounded the hunter's horn and caught a white mouse and a grey mouse... lame.
Since we were in IKEA, we had meatballs and chicken wings! Good.
However, not something I'll die for. Not like the long time no eat tiramisu!
The last time I saw a Maserati GranTuismo, I had a terrible week.
And weekly soccer is back!!
